Local Alert Weather Day Tuesday, Red Flag Warning with isolated storms and heat

ktvz

Bend, Or (KTVZ). The National Weather Service has upgraded the Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning (the next level) due to the dry conditions of the fuel on the ground, the dry air above it, the potential for gusty winds near isolated storms expected in the afternoon, and the 90+ degree heat. All these factors combine to create dangerous fire behavior tomorrow, Tuesday.

We have issued a Yellow Weather Alert Day for those reasons. The storms will not be widespread, but the gusty outflow winds (winds pushing away from the storms) will be felt well away from the rain. There will also be dry lightning that may spark a wildfire as well.
