Snow possible tonight, more snow likely over the weekend

There will be a decent amount of snow added to the Cascades this week and significantly more over the weekend. The resorts have been running at a deficit so far this season, and this weekend will make up for the dry and mild pattern.

As for the lower elevations of the High Desert, including the Highway 97 locations, our area will still see the fog, the mist, and the rain until the weekend. There may be some snow early in the day Thursday along 97 so make sure you allow extra time to get to your destinations.

Highs Thursday and Friday will be in the low to middle 40s, which will support a wintry mix and some cold rain off and on. Overnight the foggy and misty pattern remains a possibility.

Heading into the weekend, a cold front pushes through Saturday and will change the rainy pattern to a snowy pattern.

There will be periods of snow on Saturday that may accumulate a couple of inches from Redmond to La Pine. Mountains are likely to get several inches. Sunday looks a bit drier but the cold air remains. Snow showers or snow bursts may speckle the area Sunday, but nothing widespread is in the forecast at this time.

Monday will see the return of the snow but as the day progresses it may switch to more of a wintry mix.

Snow will once again fall late Tuesday into Wednesday as our area continues to see more precipitation.
