Cold morning, mixed precipitation this afternoon and tonight

Happy Tuesday!  Conditions early this morning appear to be mostly dry with less concern for fog and freezing fog than yesterday but these are still possible as temperatures before sunrise will be in single digits in some areas. Some areas have definitely already experienced some limited visibility but conditions continue to fluctuate.   As such, wind chill values below 0 are possible. Snow is likely this afternoon and depending on temperatures the snow could possibly mixed with rain and freezing rain which can be extremely dangerous and with accumulations of ice causing falling tree limbs power outages are possible.

On and off mixed precipitation is what we can expect for the next several days.  Most of the actual accumulations of snow and freezing rain are forecasted to occur in the mountains though we will experience these conditions in the lower elevations as well.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 4pm Tuesday to 4pm Wednesday due to expected mixed precipitation and snow accumulations of up to an inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch in combination with winds gusting as high as 35mph creating slippery roads.

A WWA is also in place along the east slopes of the Cascades including LaPine and Sunriver from 1pm today to 10pm Wednesday.  Also due to mixed precipitation, expected snowfall of 5-10 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch and winds gusting as high as 55mph. Travel could be very difficult to impossible and hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commutes.

Winds will be out of the South and Southeast at 5-15mph today and will increase tonight to the 15-20mph range. Highs will be in the 20s and 30s and overnight lows appear to be primarily in the 20s.
