SCHOOL DELAY INFO & Chance of mixed precipitation with cloudy skies
UPDATE: Sisters School District on a 2 hour delay.
Happy Monday. Theres a chance of a rain and snow mix throughout the morning and this afternoon precipitation will likely transition to a chance for mostly rain. No advisories are currently in place in our area, but with yesterday’s snow on the ground and potential falling precipitation, commute conditions could be dangerous. Skies will likely be cloudy and temperatures about average for this time of year.
Patches of fog are possible early and while temperatures are still below freezing, there is a possibility of freezing fog. Though we’re expecting mostly snow, any rain could also take the form of freezing rain as temperatures transition, which can lead to accumulations of ice and slippery conditions.
Overnight temperatures have been low enough across central OR for periodic light snow to develop. Moisture will continue to push north across the forecast area today due to the upper level low pressure system we’ve been tracking continuing to sit just offshore the western United States.
Winds will be active out of the South and Southeast in the 10-20 mph range with speeds up to 25mph possible in some areas before calming down around midnight.
High temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s and overnight lows in the 20s and 30s
