Dry and mild conditions continue, rain returns Friday

There will be one more day of dry weather after today as the ridge of high pressure shifts to the east.   This will allow a weak cold front to pass over Oregon Friday and provide some scattered rain showers.  The region will be mild enough to support all rain, but some high elevation snow is possible. Keep the rain gear handy Friday.

This front will stall south of the state allowing for periods of rain to linger on Saturday. The bulk of the rain will be south of the tri-counties, but may drift north enough to give southern Deschutes County a rainy period.  Once again, keep the umbrellas in the car.

As for the rest of the weekend, look for the area to dry out, but brisk.  There will be a north wind on Sunday that will usher in some cooler air for next week. The winds will be in the 20+ mph range at times Sunday, enough to be annoying but not too overwhelming.

Cooler conditions, as mentioned, will follow the brisk winds. Monday will see highs in the 50s and we should stay in that range for at least the first part of next week. Mountain snow is possible on Tuesday, not much, but a nice coating on the Cascades is possible.  Lower elevations should stay dry.
