Heading into Autumn nearly normal

After a string of below normal days, temperatures are on the rise. Today, highs will be in the mid to upper 70s, with a few areas even tipping into that 80-degree mark. Normal this time of year is about 75. Lows tonight will be the 30s and 40s again. Mostly clear skies today. There will be a noticeable breeze this afternoon and next.

We will cool slightly on Friday but generally remain in the low to mid 70s through the weekend, hovering right around normal. The next few days will be calm and comfortable.

A high pressure begins to build off of our coast this weekend. We’ll see the effects of it early next week when temperatures spike into the 80s for a short time. As for now, enjoy the beautiful fall weather and fresh, crisp air. Those leaves are beginning to change–keep an eye out for more reds and oranges here over the next couple weeks.

The first official day of Fall begins this Sunday. We entered Meteorological Fall September 1st but Astronomical Fall, when there are roughly equal hours of daylight and darkness, starts early morning September 22nd. Before you know it, those 4pm sunsets will be here.

Have a very happy Thursday.
