Warm and dry pattern into the weekend

Yesterday’s rain clouds and light showers have moved northeast out of our region overnight. We will likely see a few lingering clouds this morning before they burn off during the day. Rain totals yesterday, if you were lucky, were only a few hundredths of an inch.

Central Oregon has seen very little rain the last few months– much less than we normally see this time of year. Normally, we would expect about a half inch of rain each month July-Sept. Although our “wet” season starts in November, we are long overdue for some good, wetting rain.

We have a calm and quiet few days ahead of us. A slightly southwest flow means temps will stay on the “above normal” side of things for the next few days. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low 80s heading into the first part of the weekend. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s. Dry air is moving into the region so mostly sunny skies is expected for our forecast period.

Strong winds yesterday, with gusts reaching 40+mph likely blew around some debris. You’ll want to double check your garden gnomes and trashcans. Winds today will be much more calm.

Happy Thursday and have a great day!
