Windy today, dry and breezy on Election Day but on the chilly side
A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for portions of Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook Counties until 7 am tonight. The windy pattern today will relax slightly as the night moves along, reducing in speed from the 20- 30 mph range to the teens. Gusts may peak near 50 at times, but generally expect sustained winds near 20. This is still brisk, but trending slower as we move into the night. The chance for some light rain is not off the table tonight, but seems to be raining itself out over the mountains.
Tuesday will be dry and crisp with highs in the middle 40s. Normal highs for early November are in the middle 50s so the crisp pattern remains. The winds will be significantly less, more of a light breeze vs. a brisk burst. There will be a mix of sun and clouds tomorrow as well, with more sun than clouds. Election day will not be impacted by the weather, even though we vote by mail, we still may need to get to our ballot boxes.
Wednesday will be a quiet and dry day with high in the upper 40s, still below normal, but trending milder. Expect to see mostly sunny skies and some light winds. Thursday will finally see the mercury in the thermometer rise to normal, the middle 50s. Winds pick up again as the day moves along, so the middle 50s may still “feel like” the middle 40s.
Warming to the 60s on Thursday and breezy again. Friday will see ran arrive and the temps returning to the 50s. Rain will continue off and on through the weekend and taper off into Monday.
