Above normal temps this week

KTVZ

Highs today are in the 40s. We will start the day with some cloud cover that will burn off progressively throughout the day. Lows tonight will be in the teens and 20s under mostly clear skies.

There is a Freezing Fog Advisory out for parts of the region that will expire at 11am today. There will be limited visibility when driving, so take it slow and give yourself extra space between cars. Freezing fog can leave a thin, icy film on surfaces, like your windshield and on roads. Be careful this morning.

A ridge of high pressure is building into our region over the next few days. We often see fog with this pattern in the winter because winds remain calm, and we have clear and cool nights. So, you can expect fog for the next few mornings.

As this high pressure approaches, our temperatures will continue to climb through the week. Normal high temperatures for this time of year are the low 40s. By Wednesday, we will be tipping into the 50s. Mid 50s are expected by the end of the week, putting us just over 10 degrees above normal.

The dry pattern continues for the short term but increasing cloud cover is expected through the work week.

Happy Monday. I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend. Have a great day!
