Freezing fog advisory through Wednesday morning, milder into the weekend

The fog will likely return overnight to the region as well as the below normal temperatures.  The freezing fog advisory is extended until 11 am Wednesday morning.  Travel conditions will be compromised as the icy glaze generated by the fog that freezes on contact will coat your windshield, some road surfaces, decks, sidewalks, and steps.  The thin layer of ice may not be intense enough to pull down trees or power lines, but it will make getting around slick and dangerous. Lows are expected to be in the teens and 20s once again tonight.

The rest of the week looks to be on the mild side as highs will reach the 50s though Saturday.  There is an area of high pressure over the region that we are on the western edge of. This will allow some milder air to arrive from the south, slightly warming the area.  There will be plenty of sunshine to help scour out or “burn off” any lingering fog Wednesday.

There is still a chance for some isolated pockets of fog Wednesday night into Thursday, that chance is low, but not zero.  The rest of the week looks dry and any chance for low level clouds/fog will be greatly reduced.

Friday will be partly cloudy and dry with highs in the low 50s ahead of a line of showers expected Saturday. The showers Saturday will be late in the day and will be associated with a cold front.  The rain may switch over to a wintry mix before Sunday morning, then a few flurries are possible Sunday afternoon.

Highs Saturday will be in the low 50s, highs Sunday will be in the low 40s. Overnight lows this weekend will be near 30°.
