Mountain snow off and on, chilly weekend ahead
The rain showers and a bit of a wintry mix will linger through the evening then partial clearing on Saturday. The mountains will see a few inches of wet and heavy snow for the mountain passes while the resorts get a few inches on new snow to enjoy.
Saturday will be a chilly day as the air behind the front responsible for providing the rain and mix to Central Oregon will set up for a few days. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will only reach the upper 30s and low 40s under partly cloudy skies. The winds will be light and the region will experience a crisp winter weekend. The area should see some increasing cloud cover on Sunday, but the chance for snow is only confined to the peaks of the Cascades.
Monday will be cold again with highs in the middle to upper 30s. Winds on will be light and variable under partly cloudy skies. The resorts will be enjoying pleasant run of sunny skies and blue bird days.
The rest of the week will be quiet and dry with temperatures rising into the low 40s on Tuesday. Breezy winds from the south will be the most noticeable difference from Monday, but only at around 10 mph.
Wednesday and Thursday will see the mercury in the thermometer rise into the middle 40s under mostly sunny skies. Friday may see a few more clouds and slightly cooler conditions.
