Warming pattern as we move toward the weekend

Dry and mild weather is expected to dominate the region for the next several days before yielding to a week of rain and snow. If you enjoy the nearly springlike weather, apart from the snow on the ground, this is your weekend.

Friday will be mostly sunny and dry with temps in the low 50s.  Winds relax and the conditions for any outdoor activities look great. Over the weekend we get a taste of spring once again. Under mostly sunny skies the temperatures will reach the low 60s. Winds both days will be light and variable as we steady the ship.

Overnight into Sunday morning we lose an hour of sleep as Daylight Saving Time begins. That means we push the clocks ahead one hour, at 2am, and we get light later in the day and darkness lingers a bit longer in the morning. No real change in the length of day, just our perception of it. It does bring to mind the feeling that we are heading into the spring-like pattern, psychologically, as most of us see sunset later in the day.

Next week will be a bit more wintry though as we will be looking at some spotty rain and overnight snow beginning Monday and lingering off and on into Wednesday.

Please stay safe.
