Heavier rain and snow expected tomorrow in Central Oregon
Heavy snow and strong winds are set to hit the mountains this weekend. Up to 2 feet of snow is expected in the Cascades, with gusts reaching 50 mph.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Sunday night due to dangerous travel conditions and low visibility.
We'll continue to see a mix of rain and snow showers will continue across the High Desert today. Winds will be picking up tonight. Expect southwest winds 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35mph.
Overnight lows will fall into the 30s across the region, with some areas dipping below freezing.
We're expecting some heavier precipitation as we move overnight into Sunday. Snow levels will drop overnight allowing for some accumulating snow. Some of our higher elevations areas could expect 2-4".
Rain will also increase in intensity overnight below slowly dissipating through the afternoon and early
evening on Sunday. Rain amounts of up to an inch to 1.5 inches will be possible across Central Oregon.
Highs tomorrow will remain in the 40s.
On Monday, we may see some periods of snow mainly during the morning. We'll be mostly cloudy and breezy across the region. Expect highs in the 40s and 50s next week.
