More snow expected overnight, off and on the rest of the week
A series of upper level disturbances will pass through the region with tonight seeing a low migrate over Northern California. This feature will be able to provide the region with some more snow over the area before sunrise. Not much at lower elevations but we could see about 5 or more inches over the Cascade and the western La Pine and Sisters areas.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for portions of Deschutes County and Jefferson Counties beginning at 5 pm tonight and going until 5 pm Tuesday. This replaces the Winter Storm Warning.

We do get a break on Tuesday and again Wednesday before another wave of snow and wintry mix arrive. This feature will be arriving on Wednesday evening, therefore overnight snow is possible region-wide. Amounts have yet to be determined but with the mild temperatures expected during the day, it will take some time before the snow begins to accumulate on the roads. Snow should still be around on the grassy areas, so accumulation will begin at the advent of the event.
Dry again Thursday, except for more mountain snow, so the region will have time to recover. The next in the series arrives on Friday as a mix of rain and snow during the day, followed by snow overnight.
The pattern becomes much less active as the weekend begins, with only a stray snow shower early Saturday followed by milder and drier air into next week.
Spring begins on Thursday, and we should have a good deal of snow still on the ground.
Please stay safe.
