Dry with above normal temperatures heading into the new week
No Winter Weather Alerts are active! We have very comfortable and quiet weather the next few days. There is a chance for a few light mountain showers this morning but they should clear by this afternoon.
A high pressure is building into our region and will remain overhead through the first half of the week. This pattern will allow our temperatures to get anywhere from 15-20 degrees above normal. Highs today are expected to be in the 60s, with Redmond and Warm Springs tipping into the low 70s. More cities will follow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lows will be in the 30s and 40 the next few nights.
The ridge will move east by mid-week and a low pressure will take its place. Rain is expected to return late Wednesday or early Thursday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of Oregon under a marginal risk for thunderstorms on Wednesday. Thunderstorms are not incredibly likely for us here in Central Oregon, but potential will increase slightly as you head north and east.
We’ll see a passing shower or two on Thursday, and a chance for a spotty mix on Friday. After a brief pause in precipitation on Saturday, a wintry mix will pick back up again Sunday.
Happy Monday! Have a nice day. Get outside and enjoy the next few beautiful days.
