Another record breaking day with highs in the 70s and even the low 80s (Warm Springs hit 82). The storms that were expected to materialize over the high desert stayed well to the west. In fact, there was not one severe thunderstorm warning in Oregon today. Our warm air was only one of the ingredients for the stormy weather, other elements did not combine with the heat to provide the storms. Good.

Moving forward into the rest of the week I am expecting to see the chance for rain off and on into Friday. There may be some minor flooding by the weekend as the heat from the past few days and the rain expected Thursday and Friday should push creeks and streams to bank full this weekend.

Snow is also returning to the forecast as we close out the last full week of March. There cooler pattern will provide some more mountain snow to replenish the melted snow this week.

The water is still cold and moving fast this time of year. If you are going to recreate on area waterways, be prepared for swift moving water and cold water.
