Rainy pattern returns along with mountain snow
The well above normal temperatures of the past few days are now just notes in the record books, we are still in Spring. The mercury in the thermometer is going to show reading in the 50s over the next several days and there will be a chance for some showers off and on through next week.
There will be some wet snow possible overnight in the southwest portion of Deschutes County and that trend will continue into Friday afternoon. La Pine, Sisters, and Sunriver will see snow falling but not much is expected to accumulate (we hit the upper 70s this week, not much frozen ground around anymore). The Cascades will get snow, so traveling thought the passes tonight and Friday will be tricky.
Saturday will be dry and cool with highs in the low 50s followed by partly to mostly cloudy skies Sunday. There will be a chance for a passing shower Sunday afternoon before more widespread rain arrives Monday. The overnight temperatures will be near freezing each of the next several days as well, so there may be some wet snow mingled in with the rain overnight.
This is the last weekend in March, and it should be a typical late March weather pattern.
Please stay safe.

Thanks to John McColgan for sending in this awesome shot of the Mammatus Clouds over Bend today at around 5 pm. Below is a picture sent to us by Lisa Bagwell.

This formation is caused by sinking air inside the cloud that condenses at the base and forms these bulbus looking shapes. Sometime this is a sign that there may be severe storms developing, but not always. Today it just showed there was movment inside the cloud, but nothing severe developed. They usually only last about 15 minutes or so.
