Drying out and warming up as we move into the weekend

The spotty rain showers may still return over the next 18 hours or so, but overall the region will be drying out and warming up.  There is still a chance for some snow over the crest of the Cascades, but not much more than an inch or so. The theme for the next few days will be to dry out and warm up.

Thursday will be a mix of mostly to partly sunny skies as the upper level pattern shifts from a low to a high. In other word, the deep low that has been providing the chilly pattern is moving east and a ridge of high pressure is arriving from the west.

Friday will see the mercury in the thermometer rise to the upper 50s or low 60s under mostly sunny skies. A pleasant “spring feel” is in play for the area. Saturday will be even warmer as the ridge takes hold of the west coast and we should see some upper 60s or even the low 70s.

Sunday will start out sunny but the clouds will move in as the day moves along. A rainy day is slated for Monday so Sunday will be the setup day. Highs will be the warmest of the weekend as the temps reach the low 70s in Bend and Redmond.

Enjoy the dry and milder weather this weekend, it has been a bit of a ride this week with the rain and snow.
