Comfortable temperatures and sunshine into the holiday weekend

A low pressure is dipping down to our east over the next day or so and will contribute to slightly cooler temperatures and breezier afternoons. Precipitation will stay to our east and south as this low clips eastern Oregon.

Temperatures are staying relatively warm and above normal today, but we can say “See you later!” to the 70s. Highs will top out in the 60s this afternoon under sunny skies. Winds will get a little breezy this evening.

Temperatures will continue to cool Thursday, hovering right around normal. Look for highs in the 50s and low 60s. Skies stay mostly clear and winds will be gusty through the day.

A ridge of high pressure will begin to build as we walk into the holiday weekend. High temperatures will jump 3-5 degrees above normal but drop again heading into early next week as the ridge flattens out. Dry and sunny conditions are staying for the long term.

Prescribed burns have begun and KTVZ will be tracking smoke and air quality through this time. Tune in throughout the day for the latest updates.

Happy Wednesday! Have a wonderful day.
