Sunshine returns but temperatures stay below normal
Skies will clear today, allowing some sunshine back in the region. The storm system has exited Oregon and we’ll see quiet conditions today. Temperatures are starting to rise, but slowly. Highs will remain below normal for the rest of the week. Temperatures today are topping out in the mid 50s to low 60s. It will be another breezy afternoon with winds gusting around 20-25 mph.
You can expect temperatures to rise a few degrees each day before dropping again for the weekend.
Models are predicting a passing shower for our area Thursday evening. Very light rain is expected. I’m thinking that most of it won’t make it to the ground, since it will be much drier at the surface than the atmosphere above. It’s likely that a lot of the moisture gets eaten up by the Cascades first and what’s left for us here on the eastern slopes won’t be much to work with either. You can pack a jacket for your dinner plans to be prepared, but I wouldn’t worry too much about rain until the weekend.
Our next system approaches as we head into the weekend bringing scattered showers back to Central Oregon on Saturday. Rain chances will linger through the weekend, but taper off after Saturday.
Have a nice Wednesday.
