Highs today will be in the low to mid 60s under partly to mostly skies as the atmosphere preps for our next system this weekend.

Overnight tonight, rain will move in. Scattered showers are expected through Saturday with the chance for a few isolated thunderstorms. Everything on the east side of the Cascades is under a “general risk” for thunderstorms on Saturday by the Storm Prediction Center. Nothing severe is expected, but some lightning, gusty winds, and potentially small hail underneath storms are possible.

Due to this weather, we’ve issued a “yellow” Local Alert Weather Day, which means potentially inconvenient weather. In other words, keep your eyes to the sky in case you have to adjust some plans.

Rain will taper off in the high desert on Sunday with light mountain snowfall early Sunday. The mountains could pick up an inch or so by Sunday afternoon.

Plan for cool temperatures this weekend, in the 50s. Near normal temperatures return next week.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
