Possible record heat this weekend

The record high in Bend for June 7th is 92 set back in 1926, and the record for Sunday the 8th is 90 set in 2016, according the Nowcast of the National Weather Service. We may be re-writing the books over the weekend.

There are a few other cities that may re-write the books this weekend as well. The temperature profile over the past week has been a steady warm up from 70 on Sunday to the 80s today and then the 90s over the weekend. High pressure off the coast has been slow to move, but it has been migrating our way an will be the main reason we grab the pencil for the record books this weekend.

There is not much moisture available for the weekend, so mainly dry and hot weather will be the best way to describe the days.

Monday will be the end of the warming pattern, but it will still be hot. Some clouds may arrive in the late day time frame and with the heat, we may see an isolated storm pop up. There will be a better chance for some pop ups on Tuesday, but I am not committing to that just yet.

If you are out and about this week, remember that the water is still cold from the melting snow, but it is going to be refreshing in the heat later this week.  Always exercise caution while recreating on land or in the water.  This is a great week to get out and enjoy what we live here for, the outdoor life.

Also, remember to stay hydrated this weekend and use sunscreen.

Please stay safe.
