Temperatures dropping into the 80s but fire danger remains elevated
The Red Flag Warning over Central Oregon has expired but warnings across the region are still active through tonight. Conditions might not be critical for Central Oregonians today, but with warm dry weather and breezy winds gusting near 25mph, fire danger remains elevated through the afternoon.
A few new fires started across the region following yesterday's storms and we’ll likely see more reports today and tomorrow as sometimes the ground smolders a bit before catching flame.
A cold front is passing through today, bringing strong winds and another round of thunderstorms to areas north and southeast of us. The Tri-Counties will stay mostly sunny today.
Highs are cooling about 10 degrees from yesterday. Look for temperatures to top out in the 80s this afternoon. We’ll continue to see 80 degree temps for the remainder of the work week.
Hot temperatures are right around the corner with the 90s returning this weekend. A string of hot days is expected into next week. Plan accordingly. You’ll want to find ways to cool off!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
