Cooler and cloudy today with a slight chance for storms
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
An upper level low is moving across the region today and tomorrow, bringing light showers and a chance for thunderstorms. It doesn’t appear that a whole bunch of rain, if any, is making it to the surface this morning but don’t be caught off guard if you notice a few raindrops.
There is a slight chance for thunderstorms today but most models have storms developing further east. Crook County might get clipped by a storm or two but I wouldn’t plan around stormy weather today.
Storm chances continue tomorrow but fall off a bit as the upper level system continues east.
The Storm Prediction Center has Central Oregon under the “general risk” category for the next few days but instability is lacking. With isolated thunderstorms, it can be difficult to predict exactly where one might pop up. We can tell if a general area has the ingredients for storms, but pinpointing an exact location of pop-up storms is very tricky. Keep an eye out but, again, I wouldn’t change any plans because the good majority of us will miss out on any activity.
Highs today are cooler, in the low to mid 70s, but will heat back into the low to mid 80s tomorrow. The rest of the week looks warm and sunny, with highs in the 80s and low 90s at times.
Happy Monday. Have a great week!
