Storms south again today, typical summer pattern this weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Storms are expected in southern Oregon again today which will keep fire danger high. A Red Flag Warning is active through tonight for areas south of Central Oregon.

The Tri County area will be sunny, dry, and breezy today with winds gusting around 20-25mph. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s.

I’m excited for the weekend forecast! Highs will be normal, in the mid 80s and skies will be mostly sunny. It’ll be the perfect weekend to enjoy gardening, sitting on the water, golfing, etc.

Next week, storm chances return for Central Oregonians. There are opportunities every day of the week to see isolated afternoon thunderstorms that develop in the heat of the day. As temperatures quickly heat into the upper 80s and low 90s, and moisture gets transported in from further south, we can get a mixture conducive for stormy weather. We’ll continue to monitor and track development as we approach next week.

Happy Friday. Have a great weekend!
