Hit or miss storms possible through the weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

The stormy days aren’t over quite yet. Chances are dropping this weekend and will be nowhere near as widespread or robust as what we’ve experienced the last few days, but the chance is still there.

Look for isolated thunderstorms to develop late this afternoon through Deschutes and Crook County. The wildfire threat has decreased but any lightning strike has the potential at this time of year.

Storm chances are pretty slim Saturday. If you’re looking to squeeze in a game of golf or go for a long hike, Saturday is your best bet. For the most part, skies will be partly cloudy and conditions will stay dry with highs in the 80s. Have a backup plan just in case.

Chances for a little rain and an embedded thunderstorm on Sunday are a bit higher but still remain around 20-30% or so. Again, keep it in the back of your mind as you’re making your weekend plans. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Sunday and temperatures will drop into the upper 70s and low 80s.

A clearing is expected at the top of next week. The weather quiets down a little, giving us both a little break. Highs will be in the 80s and skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.

Have a happy Friday and an even better weekend!
