Warming trend into the weekend for Central Oregon

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Temperatures are cooler than normal today, with highs in the 70s, thanks to a northwesterly flow keeping things mild.

As we head into the overnight hours, we'll drop into the 30s and 40s. It will feel a little crisp, but we're expected to stay above freezing levels.

It should be a pleasant end to the work week! Expect mostly sunny skies with slightly warmer conditions as we head into the low 80s. Winds will be light and breezy.

Good news for those wanting a little more of that summer heat. A high pressure system is moving in which will have our temperature gradually climbing back to the 90s by Saturday or Sunday.

With sunny skies and hotter conditions, it should be a great weekend to enjoy the water. Just don't forget the sunscreen and drink plenty of water if you plan to soak up the sun.

Fire danger will rise next week as those hotter temperatures return, along with a few days of gusty winds.

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday!
