Tracking increasingly hot temperatures through Tuesday, heat alerts issued tomorrow

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A large ridge of high pressure is settling over the region, bringing increasingly hot temperatures through Tuesday.

The Extreme Heat Watch has been upgraded to an Extreme Heat Warning, in effect from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening. During this period, expect highs in the mid to upper 90s, with some areas hitting triple digits.

These temperatures will be about 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

If you’ll be working or spending time outdoors, be sure to take extra precautions.

Monday has been declared a Local Alert Weather Day, as it’s expected to be the hottest day of the stretch.

The ridge shifts south later Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a gradual cool down through the end of the week. More importantly, breezy to windy conditions are expected, creating the potential for critical fire weather.
