Extreme heat continues, high fire danger today and tomorrow
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather Day today for extreme heat. Temperatures are only dropping a degree or two from where we topped out yesterday. Look for highs to be in the mid and upper 90s this afternoon, with the chance for a few areas to tip into the low 100s.
An Extreme Heat Warning, formerly called “Excessive Heat Warning”, is active until 10pm tonight for the lower elevation areas of Central Oregon. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe.

Hot, dry, and breezy conditions are bringing high fire danger to the region. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the Tri-County area. This will be active starting today at noon and continue through Wednesday night. Remember to always practice fire safety. August is the peak of wildfire season.

Temperatures are on the warmer side tomorrow with highs in the 80s and low 90s. By Thursday, however, temperatures will be near normal for this time of year and will stay that way for the remainder of the week.
There is a chance for isolated storms this weekend. I’ll continue to track storm potential as we approach the weekend.
Happy Tuesday! Have a nice day.
