Temperatures cool back to near normal providing some relief from the heat

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

After a heat wave that brought 90s and triple digits to the region, Central Oregonians will finally get some relief from the heat as temperatures drop back to near normal today. Look for afternoon highs to top out in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Skies will be mostly sunny and winds will be breezy at times. Overnight, lows will drop into the 40s and 50s.

Temperatures will be in the 70s and low 80s again tomorrow but clouds will increase. Overcast skies are expected by the end of the day.

There is a chance to see some rain overnight into Saturday. Showers will continue on Saturday as a cold front passes. I wouldn't say it’s a soaker but it currently looks like a decent, wetting rain. Models are currently forecasting around 0.25-0.50” of rain Saturday. Areas along 97 are usually on the lower end of that spectrum. We’ll continue to refine these numbers through the rest of the week.

Storms are possible on Sunday. There is a slight chance for a stray shower or isolated storm early Monday as well before fully clearing out.

Temperatures this weekend will be in the 70s and 80s with Saturday being the cooler of the two days.

Happy Thursday! Have a nice day and enjoy the beautiful weather this afternoon.
