LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: Chance for isolated thunderstorms this afternoon

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Cloud cover and recent rainfall really helped cool our temperatures down yesterday. Many areas saw high temperatures only reach the upper 70s. Today, it looks pretty similar. Look for highs to be in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s under mostly cloudy skies. The change in conditions have helped firefighting efforts. You can plan for lingering haze today, but air quality should be acceptable and safe to go outside.

There is a chance for light rain this morning and thunderstorm chances this afternoon. Higher elevation areas will have the best chance of seeing a storm later today, but everyone should keep an eye out just in case. We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather Day today due to the chance for storms. If you hear thunder roar, go indoors!

Temperature will be comfortable and near normal again tomorrow, with highs similar to today. Clouds will stick around but it now appears most of the showers and storms will fall further east. There is still a slight chance to see a few raindrops or hear a rumble of thunder, but less than previously thought.

Clearing and warming conditions will follow this brief mild and cloudy pattern. Look for highs to get back into the mid and upper 80s as you close out the work week.

Happy Tuesday! Have a great day.
