Enhanced fire threat with hot and stormy conditions

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

We have a few more 90+ degree days ahead of us before we start cooling off. Look for temperatures to top out in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.

Skies will be partly sunny with a chance for isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Abundant lightning and gusty winds are possible. If you hear thunder roar, go indoors. Red Flag Warnings are out for portions of Deschutes County and the entire Oregon-Washington Cascade Range through tonight. Keep an eye out for any potential new fires.

Storms will pause briefly on Thursday but return Friday for the weekend. Storm and rain chances will continue into next week.

After an extended period of heat, temperatures will progressively cool through the weekend. Highs will be near normal by Sunday and a little below average early next week. Have you missed the 70s? Well, get ready for a taste of fall-feel weather.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
