Showers ending, drier heading into the weekend

(KTVZ, Bend Ore.)   The rainfall has been off and on for the past several days, dating back to last Thursday Sept. 4th, and today should be the last in that string. Not everyone got rain over the past week, but Central Oregon did get rain each day since then.  During that string of days with rain we have gone from the mid-90s to the upper 60s.

Heading into the weekend the region will be dry and mild with high temperatures more reminiscent of mid-September. Highs will be in the upper 70s Friday then spike to the middle 80s Saturday.  Normal highs for Bend this weekend hover around 77°, which is close to our forecasted highs.

Friday will be dry and mild as well. Drier air will be in place as we see the showers ending today.  The region will be warming a bit on Saturday as a brief and weak ridge takes over and we hit the low to middle 80s.  The dry pattern will be short lived as clouds arrive late in the day ahead of some rain slated for Sunday.

A cold front arrives from the west and crosses the Beaver State Sunday. Ahead of and near the front will be showers and a few storms. Highs Sunday drop back to the 60s after the warm Saturday.  The rainy day will be a one and done as the air mass behind the cold front is dry.

Monday will be partly cloudy and mild as highs will be in the upper 60s and low 70s.

We get back to the middle 70s Tuesday followed by upper 70s Wednesday with a few mountain locations getting some light rain.
