Sunny start today, clouds move in, rain possible after midnight
(KTVZ Bend, Ore). The weather today will be pleasant and dry. If you like temperatures in the low 80s, today is your day. Don’t get too used to the sunshine and dry weather, Sunday will be much cooler and wet.
The Foley Ridge Fire in Lane County less than 500 acres, but is pushing out a good deal of smoke. The air quality readings today have been moderate, but some areas have seen pockets of smoke settle into, or drain into some locations. Slightly unhealthy to unhealthy readings were observed last night west of the 97 highway.
Today will be mostly sunny to start then by later in the day we will see clouds move into the area. The mercury in the thermometer will cross the 80-degree mark by early afternoon even with the clouds moving in as the day moves along. Today is best described as the "setup day" ahead of the rainy day.
Sunday will start out with some rain showers before sunrise. This will be the preamble to what we can expect the rest of the day. A cold front will cross the region in the early afternoon and we will only reach the middle to upper 60s. Rain will be off and on into the night before tapering off after midnight.
Monday will start with some cloud cover and mist, but should dry out quickly. The temperature readings will only top out in the low 70s after the rainy Sunday.
Tuesday will be warmer with highs in the low 80s followed by another day of low 80 readings on Wednesday. Cloudy conditions return Wednesday as well, but no rain is expected in Central Oregon.
