The first week of fall will feel more like summer

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

A ridge of high pressure is heating the region up for the first week of fall. Temperatures are jumping about 10 degrees from yesterday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s this afternoon under blue skies with light winds.

Tomorrow, temperatures will continue to rise. Highs are forecasted to be near 15 degrees above normal for this time of year. Normal is in the low to mid 70s. Plan for temperatures to reach into the upper 80s. The warm, summer-like pattern will continue through the weekend but Wednesday will be the warmest day.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Friday, back into the 70s, as an upper level disturbance swings through and allows for slightly cooler air to creep in. Otherwise you can plan for 80s all week.

You’ll want to soak up the sun and the last hoorah of summer because currently next week is looking cooler and wetter. While next week’s forecast is subject to change, fall weather will be here soon.

Happy Tuesday! Have a great day.
