Warm, above normal temperatures today as the dry pattern continues
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
The warm and dry, summer-like weather continues. Today will be the warmest day of the week with high temperatures expected to reach into the mid and upper 80s. This puts Central Oregon about 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Tomorrow, temperatures will drop a few degrees into the low to mid 80s. Winds will pick up with the passing of a cold front and upper level low. There is no moisture associated with these systems, so we’ll just see breezy winds. A Fire Weather Watch has been released for the lower Columbia Basin and portions of northern Jefferson County for Thursday. This is a reminder that we are still technically in fire season; the fire season won’t end until we receive a good, wetting rain event this fall. Remember to always practice fire safety.
By Friday, after the two systems move through, temperatures will briefly drop into the 70s. A ridge will rebuild into the region for the weekend, heating the Tri-County Area back up into the 80s.
Fall-like weather makes a fashionably late entrance next week with temperatures in the 60s and 70s and the potential for rain.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
