The last summer-like weekend before fall weather moves in
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
Temperatures will be slightly cooler this afternoon. Look for highs to be near normal, topping out in the low to mid 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny and winds will be light.
Temperatures will make a rebound into the low 80s for the weekend, with higher elevation areas in the upper 70s at times. It should be the perfect weekend to hit the trails, go camping, or just spend some leisure time outdoors.
It appears that this will be the last hoorah of summer before fall weather takes the reins next week. There's a good chance we see the 70s again, but I wouldn’t count on making it back into the 80s for the rest of the year.
A large low pressure trough will drop in at the top of next week. This will bring a surge of much cooler air and plenty of moisture. Temperatures will drastically fall into the 60s on Monday. You can plan for 60 degree temperatures all week with off and on rain chances through at least Thursday.
To end the fire season, you need a soaking rain in the fall. We are still a bit far out to determine rain totals, but we’ll be tracking the potential of wetting rains next week that could close out the season. Tune into KTVZ News for the latest updates.
Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend!
