Fall weather moves in this week with cooler temperatures and chances for rain
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
Big changes this week! After a sunny and warm weekend, fall weather is officially here. An upper level system and a series of smaller systems are moving in which will bring moisture from the southwest and cooler temperatures this week. Look for highs to be in the middle 60s to lower 70s this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 60s for the rest of the week.
Today will start dry with chances for rain beginning in the early afternoon as a cold front approaches. Light, scattered showers are likely through the second half of the day. There is also a slight chance for a few rumbles of thunder this afternoon which could bring brief downpours, small hail, and lightning. Winds will be breezy this afternoon.
Rain will taper off overnight and Central Oregon will be dry and variably cloudy through the majority of Tuesday. Rain chances will return late day Tuesday with a second incoming system.
Off and on showers will continue Wednesday but start tapering off by Thursday. A stray shower or two is possible on Thursday. You can plan for drier conditions leading into the weekend.
Rain totals this week will be minimal. It won’t be a wash out, as showers will be mostly light each day.
Happy Monday. Have a nice day!
