Dry weather this week but rain, mix, and snow chances return this weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Some of you could be waking up to frosty windshields this morning, so consider planning a few extra minutes to heat up your car before you get out on the road.

Afternoon highs will climb to near normal, in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Skies will be mostly sunny today and winds will be light.

Temperatures mid week will heat up a little as a very weak ridge of high pressure slides through the region. Look for highs to be in the mid to upper 60s through Thursday. Clouds are expected to progressively increase each day this week as a few small systems move through but dry conditions will persist through Thursday.

Our next weather-maker is expected by Friday. Showers are expected to continue through the weekend. Mountain snow is in the forecast with a wintry mix in some higher elevation areas in the Tri-Counties. Some areas could see their first snowfall of the season this weekend, but little accumulation is expected at this time. We will continue to track the upcoming snowfall as we progress through the week. Make sure you are tuning into KTVZ News for the latest updates as things develop.

Happy Monday. Have a wonderful week!
