Dry today, showers and mountain snow Tuesday through Thursday
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
Today should be a quiet and cool start to the holiday week. Look for temperatures in the 40s under partly cloudy skies.
The mountains received snow overnight, but snow is tapering off this morning. The passes don't look too bad, but there could be a few slick spots if you have travel plans today.
An unsettled pattern is expected Tuesday through Thursday. Travel through the passes this week could be tricky at times. If you’re heading north this week, I’d recommend traveling through the passes in Oregon versus Washington, then riding 1-5 North. The Washington Cascades will receive heavier snow and will be more difficult to pass through.
Mountain snow and rain are expected to be off and on throughout the week. Snow totals will only be a few inches. Mt. Bachelor has postponed their opening day until they can receive 24".
Showers are possible in the high desert Tuesday through Thursday as well, but look light and scattered. Further west will be wetter. Generally our temperatures will be too mild for snow but a mix is possible in overnight hours for high elevation areas.
Confidence in the weekend forecast is low. Models are in disagreement on whether or not it will be wet or dry. Make sure to check in and stay updated on the forecast throughout the week as things become clearer.Â
Happy Monday!
