Mostly quiet Monday, heavy mountain snow expected midweek
Rain and snow showers are possible overnight into Monday morning for portions of Central Oregon. The mountains have picked up a few inches today, and better snow is on the way later this week.
Some areas may be dealing with patchy freezing fog tomorrow morning.
Once the showers taper off, Monday looks fairly quiet. Highs will reach the upper 30s to mid 40s under a mix of clouds and sunshine.
A more active weather pattern is setting up this week as colder air moves in, bringing persistent mountain snow through much of the work week.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect late Monday night through Thursday afternoon due to heavy mountain snow. The Cascades could see 17-25" during this period.

If you are traveling through the passes midweek, prepare for the difficult winter driving conditions.
We’re expecting off and on rain and snow showers across the high desert midweek. Snow accumulations will be much higher in the mountains, but some areas could see a few inches. Keep the shovel handy just in case.
Highs remain in the low to mid 40s for the next several days, while overnight temperatures drop into the 20s.
