Mountain snow continues today but the region clears for the weekend

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -

If you have snow reports from yesterday, we’d love to hear them! Share your pictures or measurements via email at weather@ktvz.com.

Roads, along with your windshield, will be icy this morning. Rain and melting snow will have frozen underneath the snow that was able to accumulate. Give yourself extra time to scrape and drive carefully.

There is a chance Central Oregon sees a stray snow shower this morning but we’ll likely stay dry. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the 30s, so plan on snow and ice sticking around for many.

Mountain snow is expected to continue today. The Cascades will pick up another 3-7" inches by the end of the day. The Winter Storm Warning will expire at 4pm this evening but the heaviest snow is behind us.

Conditions are expected to clear out just in time for the weekend. Friday will be a bluebird day at the mountain, so make sure to arrive early to get in all those much-needed runs.

Temperatures are expected to gradually warm over the course of the next week. The winter weather was fun while it lasted, but temperatures will be pushing 60 by mid next week which means some of that mountain snow will melt. It looks mild and dry through the long term forecast.

Have a happy Thursday.
