Sunny and mild pattern heading into the weekend, rain and snow possible Saturday

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Above normal pattern heading into the weekend as the sun-bathed high desert warms nicely. The dry and above normal weather will be ending soon, and the area will be gearing up for several wet days ahead.
Friday will be the day of transition as the skies will fill up with clouds late in the day. There is a slight chance for the Cascades to see some snow overnight into Saturday, but generally the area will stay dry.
Valentine’s Day is going to be cloudy and mild with off and on light rain showers most of the day. The rain will mingle with some snow as we get into the cool of the evening, then taper off after midnight.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy and mild with highs in the upper 40s. The series of impulses or disturbances will begin Monday, so the dry pattern will be short lived.
President’s Day will start off with cloudy skies, and a wave of cold rain should arrive shortly after sunrise. The rain will mix with some snow at times but little to no accumulation is likely since the ground is not even close to freezing. The mercury in the thermometer will be about 15-degrees above freezing so the chance for snow is only during the overnight hours and should be light.
Tuesday will bring along a mix of rain and snow again, similar to Monday. There may be a better chance for some light accumulation of the wet snow on grassy areas or your vehicles as we will be a bit cooler. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
Wednesday will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs once again near 40. The precipitation will start up again on Thursday, but mainly over the mountains. Snow will be likely.
This off and on wet pattern will continue into next weekend, but the forecast that far out is always subject to change.
Please, Stay safe.
