Some sunshine and breezy ahead of some light snow overnight
Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the east face of the Cascades until Thursday morning. Mostly this is for the mountain passes that run into the high desert. The bulk of the snow will get squeezed out by the mountains, but Thursday will start out with some snow showers across the high desert.

The snow will be light and not widespread, but if you are getting out and about early in the day, prepare for some slick roads. The winds will be noticeable, but not “squall-like” snow showers. The snow will be ending before noon with some lingering pockets into the early evening. Overall, not a large event, more inconvenient, but still dangerous in spots.
Friday will be dry and chilly with some winds along the east face of the Cascades at around 15 mph. Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected as the rounds of mountain snow come to an end.
A brief round of snow before sunrise Saturday will allow the resorts to get another great day of fresh powder to ride. The rest of the Tri-counties will see a partly cloudy day arrive after the morning snow. Temperatures get back into the 40s.
Sunday starts another round of precipitation, but this go round the air is much warmer and we should see a wintry mix of rain and snow. The rain is likely most locations, and the wintry mix will be in the early morning and after sunset. Highs get back in the 50s once again. Monday will be active as well with rain and snow mixing together in the morning and then all rain in the afternoon. Highs top out near 50 once again. Partial clearing and near normal Tuesday and Wednesday. Normal for late February is around 46 – 48°.
