Wet start to the work week, mountain snow likely

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Showers are likely to linger through the day Tuesday. Steady rain will define the day Tuesday as an atmospheric river continues allow moisture to flow into the state. The snow level is going to be well above pass levels, so I expect to see snow at times overnight, but a wintry mix of rain and snow is likely to be the primary precipitation event.
Across the high desert more of a rain event is likely with the persistence of the rain giving us around a quarter of an inch of rain. There may be some minor flooding across the area as creeks and streams will be running fast and full. Streets may see some ponding, but generally this will be some good soaking rains.
The rain and mountain snow will continue into the overnight time frame Tuesday into Wednesday. The early morning hours of Wednesday are likely to be wet and slick but should see some quick drying as the day moves along. Highs Wednesday will be in the middle 40s, right where we should be for this time of year.
The Pacific Northwest will see a drying and mild run after the rain and snow end on Wednesday morning. Expect to see the highs on Thursday back in the 50s and plenty of sunshine. It will be a Bluebird Day on the mountains under the sunny skies and the new snow.
Friday and Saturday stay dry and mild with highs each afternoon in the 50s. A few clouds arrive on Sunday as some light rain is likely in southern Oregon as we kick off the meteorological spring.
Monday will be mostly sunny once again as the area moves forward into the new season.
