Drying out today, mild temperatures

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Central Oregon is seeing showers this morning, but once they clear out, the rest of the day looks quiet. A ridge of high pressure is moving in to bring dry and mild conditions today.

Highs will range from the low to upper 50s this afternoon under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies.

Overnight lows will dip into the 20s and 30s.

Keep an eye on the sky for the full moon. A total lunar eclipse will be visible across the Pacific Northwest early tomorrow morning (around 3am) as the moon passes into Earth’s shadow.

During the eclipse, the moon will take on a deep reddish glow caused by Earth’s atmosphere filtering sunlight. That's why it is nicknamed the “Blood Moon.”

Clouds increase through the day as the next system approaches. We’ll stay dry for most of Tuesday, but rain chances rise late Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Plan on more wet weather on Wednesday as a mix of rain and snow showers move into Central Oregon. It will feel cool and breezy, with highs in the 40s. Higher elevation areas could see minor snow accumulation.

Shower chances start to taper off late in the week. Temperatures trend warmer, with highs in the upper 40s on Thursday and climbing into the 60s by Saturday.
