Today is a Local Alert Weather Day

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A Local Alert Weather Day has been issued as periods of snow move through the Cascades, along with a wintry mix along Highway 97. There is also a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing with some of these rain and snow showers. Changing conditions could still impact travel and outdoor plans at times.
A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 4am for the Cascades. Snow levels will hover around 4,500 feet, which means Santiam and Willamette Pass will likely see snow. If you're traveling through the mountains, be prepared for slick roads and allow extra travel time.
A cold front moves through the region today, bringing cooler temperatures in the upper 40s. Lower elevations will mainly see a rain and snow mix, with little to no accumulation expected.
Conditions begin to clear out Thursday, although a few lingering mountain snow showers are still possible. High Desert temperatures will stay cool in the mid 40s.
Warmer weather returns by the end of the work week. Highs climb into the low 50s Friday, and 60s return Saturday and Sunday with partly to mostly sunny skies. It's shaping up to be a great weekend for outdoor plans.
And a quick reminder: Daylight Saving Time begins early Sunday morning, meaning longer daylight in the evenings but one less hour of sleep.
