Central Oregon heads into an unseasonably warm week

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A ridge of high pressure is expanding toward Oregon, bringing a prolonged period of dry weather and above normal temperatures to the High Desert.

Expect decreasing clouds into the afternoon. Highs will rise into the upper 60s and low 70s today.

Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s and low 40s.

Temperatures continue warming through midweek, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s. That’s about 20 degrees above normal for mid-March.

St. Patrick’s Day falls on Tuesday, and the forecast looks great if you’re planning to celebrate outdoors.

The warm pattern continues through Friday before cooler temperatures return over the weekend. Highs will drop back into the upper 50s and low 60s by Saturday and Sunday.

We’re not expecting much precipitation in the Cascades this week, but a mix of rain and snow could return to the mountains over the weekend.
