Still dry and mild today, wet pattern developing late week

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Temperatures are a bit cooler, but still above normal for this time of year. Highs will reach the upper 60s to low 70s Wednesday through Friday.

Conditions stay dry today, with most shower activity remaining south of the area under variably cloudy skies. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s.

A wetter pattern begins to develop late in the week.

There is a chance for a few isolated showers and even a pop-up thunderstorm Thursday and Friday. If you are outdoors and hear thunder, move inside to a safe place. These are not expected to be severe storms, but lightning can still be dangerous.

The best chance for more widespread rain arrives over the weekend as a low pressure system drops south from Alaska. Temperatures cool back into the 50s Saturday and Sunday.

Snow is possible in the mountains Saturday night into Sunday, with a rain and snow mix possible in parts of the High Desert.

We stay in the 50s Monday, but a drier pattern returns to start the new work week.
