Crook County schools offer free summer meals

With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. Crook County School District provides free meals to children during the summer.

This summer, meals will be served at the following locations and times:

Barnes Butte Elementary Lunch 12:00 – 12:30 Monday – Friday June 18 – August 24

Harwood Park Lunch 11:40 – 12:00 Monday – Friday June 18 – August 24

Ochoco Creek Park Creation Station Lunch 12:15 – 12:45 Monday – Friday June 18 – August 24

All sites will be closed July 2-6.

Any child under age 18 may come to eat. No income verification or application is necessary. For more information, please contact CCSD Nutrition Services at 5414164143 or visit http://crookcounty.k12.or.us/departments/nutrition-and-food-services/.

Each year the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like CCSD to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. For more information about the national Summer Food Service Program, visit www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer.
